Radio & broadcast

Dead air isn’t an option. Neither is guessing.

Provecta provides engineering services to radio stations in the United States and around the world — RF, network and audio: the transmitters, antennas, links, studios and networks that carry a station to air, built with the redundancy on-air work needs.

What we hear

Sound familiar?

One path to air

A single link, a single encoder, a single studio — and every one of them is a way to go silent.

IT and broadcast in different worlds

The IT company doesn’t know audio over IP. The broadcast contractor doesn’t know firewalls. The outage lives in between.

Remote sites you drive to

A transmitter site an hour away, and the only way to know what’s wrong is to go look.

A plant nobody wrote down

Years of changes, the engineer who made them gone, and no drawing that matches what’s in the rack.

How we work with you

RF, broadcast engineering and IT — one team

We treat the station as one system: the signal from the antenna back, the audio chain, the network it rides on, and the IT the staff depend on.

  • RF engineering: transmitters, antennas and transmission lines, boosters
  • Studio-transmitter links: microwave, IP and codecs
  • Studio builds, studio networks and failover between studios
  • Audio-over-IP networks and routing
  • Transmitter-site power, RF monitoring and remote access
  • Streaming encoders and station phone systems
  • Station IT, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, cameras and security

The specifics

What we pay attention to

Two ways to air

A backup link that takes a different path, a second studio that can take over, an encoder that fails over on its own. Redundancy is designed in, not bolted on after the first outage.

Hear about it before listeners do

Silence detection, RF and power monitoring, and remote access, so a problem at the site shows up on a screen — not on the phone from a listener.

A network built for audio

Audio over IP needs its own segment, the right priority and multicast handled properly. We build the network for the audio, then keep the office traffic off it.

Work we've done

KWVE Broadcast Network

Infrastructure projects for a radio broadcast network, where the network carries live audio and downtime is heard by every listener.
